Education

There is no more difficult challenge to the state than the shortcomings in our education system.  We are not serving the young residents of Ohio, investment failings that limit economic growth and hurt us all.  Locally, some education reforms have been successful, but reforms have not been widely embraced and success has not found a broad base.  With wide ranging experience, I have a broad range of experiences to advance education:

  • Providing legal representation to youth in Juvenile Court;
  • Developing after school and evening education centers to strengthen education and improve computer skills (with documented success in improving education in problem schools);
  • A respected analyst on tax and budget issues, taught graduate school students while working for the United States Congress; and
  • Working with community groups to channel energy into School Board action and focus on new ways to advance area education.
